Do you believe that the human soul is eternal?

Joanne's FAVORITE answer:
Of course. That's the only way grandma's plan to live forever would work out.

Joanne's answer:
That's a tough one. I'm inclined to say that I just don't know...BUT I do totally believe in ghosts, so I think that I means that I believe the answer to be yes!

And the other answers!

I am having trying hard to come up a cool answer to be your favorite answer - but all I got is hell yeah.

I do actually...no proof on this but..i do believe it remains..

Only if you believe humans have a soul.

It goes against my nature to believe in things for which there exists no supporting evidence. But I do kinda believe in souls *only* because I believe I've seen ghosts. As for eternal? No, but perhaps extremely long-lived (pun intended).

I do believe that the human soul is eternal.

Really? this is what passes as a QOTD nowadays? the hiatus has left things a bit rusty....well, it depends on if we are talking metaphorically or literally. Metaphorically speaking I like to think that the essence of humanity is eternal enough given the limitations on the life of the planet, universe, etc... as we have proven to be an extremely adaptable species so far. Literally, hell no. there is no soul and when a person dies, they die. simple as that. Oh, and boobs.

Yup!

Only if someone else is around to remember it! Sort of the same as a tree falling in the forest.

I am of two minds on this. On the one hand - science would suggest that there is no "soul", and I do believe in science. On the other hand - ever since I can remember I have felt like I have come from some place before this and that I will go back to that place when I'm done. And, I have had experiences that I doubt science could explain. My gut says: "The soul is eternal."
My brain says: "I just don't know." One last thought - my gut has usually been right.

Nope.

Absolutely!
